What is IPL?
IPL is short for Intensed Pulse Light, it is a form of laser therapy that unlike traditional laser therapies utilizes light of many different wavelengths for even more pronounced results. It accesses the second layer of your skin -known as the dermis -without causing any harm to the top layer of your skin -known as the epidermis.
How fast will I see results?
IPL/ Skin Rejuvenation like most laser treatments takes some time to take full effect and show noticeable results. It generally takes a few weeks from your first treatment to see results and multiple treatments are typically required to fully resolve a condition. As part of your FREE consultation our trained medical staff will assess your condition and give you an estimate on when you can expect to see results.
Who shouldn't get it?
Our staff will always assist you in determining whether or not IPL/ Skin Rejuvenation is right for you. You may not be a candidate to receive it if you have active acne, a sunburn, a weakened immune system, or are pregnant or breastfeeding. It's always best to consult with us, as we may be able to direct you to an alternative treatment if IPL/ Skin Rejuvenation isn't best for you.
What laser do you use?
The staff at Essence Medical is proud to use the SharpLight OmniMax S3 & S4 for all laser based applications. Both the S3 & S4 are widely regarded as being among the best devices available on the market and the results speak for themselves. Redness from Rosacea
-
Scars
-
Unwanted Hair
-
Hormonal Dark Spots
After procedure care?
Our trained Essence Medical staff will always outline best practices post-treatment to ensure you take care of yourself and help maximize desired results. General best practices after an IPL/ Skin Rejuvenation treatment session include taking time to rest and heal, avoiding the sun as much as possible, wearing sunscreen, and keeping the treated skin well moisturized ideally using a staff recommended product.
Is it just one treatment?
Our staff will always assess your unique situation, but most patients require multiple IPL/ Skin Rejuvenation treatments to attain the results they desire. Most conditions require at least 3 sessions, spaced out by 2-4 weeks. Once fully treated, many of our clients do return for follow-up treatments down the road to further rejuvenate their skin and treat anything else that naturally arises through aging.
How do I best prepare for it?
Patients are recommended to avoid the following prior to an IPL/ Skin Rejuvenation treatment:
-
Tanning
-
Waxing
-
Collagen Shots
-
Applying any potential skin irritants (perfumes, makeup) to the skin
