What is it?
Tumescent liposuction is an outpatient procedure designed to remove fat deposits from various areas of the body -including those that generally do not change with diet and exercise. It uses diluted anesthetic solutions to firm and numb fat cells in preparation for their removal via small incisions.
How fast will I see results?
While every patient's experience is unique, you typically begin to see visible improvement within 1-2 weeks, but final results are generally visible within 1-3 months once all swelling from the procedure has subsided. The process will likely involve the wearing of compression garments post-procedure to further assist in contouring and recovery.
Where can it be done?
Tumescent liposuction can be done on many parts of the body, including:
-
Face
-
Stomach
-
Hips
-
Arms
-
Thighs
-
Ankles
-
Buttocks
How long will it last?
Tumescent liposuction is designed to permanently remove the targeted fat from the body. So the results are permanent, but proper diet and exercise are strongly recommended post-procedure to prevent new fat from gathering in the body.
Is it safe?
Tumescent liposuction is widely regarded as the safer and less painful alternative to traditional liposuction. It is also acknowledged by most as more effective. Susan will happily elaborate on the process and answer any and all questions you may have regarding its safety as part of your free initial consultation.
What are the side effects?
Pain stemming from the procedure is generally easily managed with common pain relievers. Further complications are typically rare, but may include: loose skin, lumpiness, dimpling, numbness and infection -all of which can generally be easily treated. Susan is highly skilled and qualified in this process to reduce the chances of any complications and will always ensure your safety.
